Andrew Mortenson recently graduated from the University of Ottawa’s Common Law Program, graduating with a Juris Doctor in April 2018, and began articling with Gerami Law PC the following August. While attending law school, Andrew completed internships with the Ontario Crown Attorney’s Office and Amnesty International. He was also a Research Fellow with the uOttawa Refugee Hub, including working on a research team led by the Hon. Allan Rock. Andrew’s research with the Refugee Hub primarily focused on removing legal barriers to refugee settlement in Canada and around the world.
Before relocating to Ottawa to study Law, Andrew was raised in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley. He attended the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan Campus, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a Major in Political Science, Philosophy, and Economics.
Outside of the office, Andrew enjoys taking advantage of the outdoors during all four seasons, and can often be found biking or skating down the Rideau Canal. A passionate hockey fan, Andrew also enjoys taking advantage of Ottawa’s many indoor and outdoor rinks to watch and play hockey.
